Purpose of this Study

We are doing this study to collect breath samples to develop an experimental breath test that aims to detect breast cancer at its earliest stages. Additionally, we will look into whether a person's "breath signature" changes before and after they have undergone surgery for breast cancer.

What is Involved?

Description

If you choose to join the study, you will:
  • Provide one breath sample
  • Fill out a survey
  • Give us permission to collect some information from your medical records
The survey will collect information about your basic demographics (e.g., birth year, height, weight, ethnicity), your risk factors for breast cancer, medical conditions, and current medications that you use (if any). The breath sampling procedure will take approximately 60 minutes or more to complete. If you are asked to do a second breath collection procedure, it will take place at least 6 months after your surgery or post-surgery treatment if breast cancer is later detected.
