What is Involved?

Description

If you choose to join this study, you will get a random assignment (like a coin flip) to 1 of 2 treatment arms in this study:
  • If you are in Arm 1, you will get an antibiotic (either cefazolin or clindamycin) through IV (injected into a vein) during your surgery and not take any antibiotics on your own after surgery
  • If you are in Arm 2, you will get an antibiotic (either cefazolin or clindamycin) through IV (injected into a vein)
About a week after surgery, you will have a follow-up visit to see how you are doing. About 2 weeks after surgery, we will call you to see how you are doing.
