Purpose of this Study

If you take part in this study, you will take a study supplement or placebo for 12 weeks and attend study visits that include breathing tests, lung function tests, strength and walking tests, exercise testing, blood draws, and questionnaires about your physical activity and diet.

Who Can Participate?

Eligibility

Healthy adults ages 65–85 who can safely complete breathing, physical function, and exercise tests may be able to join this study. People with certain medical conditions, such as diabetes, recent heart problems, or significant lung or kidney disease, may not be eligible.

Description

The purpose of this study is to find out if taking a glycine supplement every day can help improve breathing strength and lung function in healthy older adults. This is a Randomized Trial recruiting Healthy Older AND Younger Cohorts!
