Purpose of this Study
A muscle biopsy and blood draw, and a exercise test.
Who Can Participate?
Eligibility
People can join this study if they are women who are 50 years old or older and have high blood pressure or heart failure. The heart failure must be a type called HFpEF, which means the heart pumps well but does not relax and fill with blood properly. Participants cannot be taking a type of medicine called a GLP 1 medication. The study is looking at how these health conditions affect muscle function and strength.

What is Involved?
Description
This study is being done to learn how a type of heart failure called HFpEF affects muscles. HFpEF is a condition where the heart pumps well but does not relax and fill with blood properly. Researchers want to understand why muscles may become weaker or not work as well in people with this condition. The goal is to learn what causes these muscle problems and find ways to improve strength and physical function in the future.
