Purpose of this Study
We are doing this study is to evaluate the outcomes of medial patellofemoral ligament (MPFL) reconstruction surgery. This surgery is a common treatment for recurrent patellofemoral instability. We want to find out what factors most influence the likelihood of this procedure being successful.
Who Can Participate?
Eligibility
Children and adults ages 10-35 who:<ul>
<li>Are scheduled to have MPFL reconstruction surgery at Duke</li>
<li>Have recurrent patellar instability with at least one of the followings episodes: a dislocated patella that had to be reduced in the ER *OR* a previous dislocation that had a feeling of the tendon "giving way"</li></ul>
