STRIVE (Southern Liver Health Study)

Purpose of this Study

We are doing this study to learn more about how environmental contaminants (e.g., "forever chemicals") can affect people's likelihood of developing liver disease.

Who Can Participate?

Eligibility

Adults ages 40-75 who:
  • Live in North Carolina and do not plan to move for the next 2 years
  • Have or do not have liver disease
  • Do not have liver or biliary cancer

What is Involved?

Description

If you choose to join this study, you will:
  • Fill out surveys
  • Have blood draws and give urine samples
  • Wear a wristband for a short time so it can be tested for exposures to different chemicals and pollutants
