Purpose of this Study
The goal of this study is to learn more about how certain hormones and cells in the pancreas help keep blood sugar at a healthy level. This is very important when the body does not respond well to insulin, which can happen with obesity and diabetes. By doing this study, researchers hope to find better ways to care for and treat diabetes.

What is Involved?
Description
People who join this study will first have an online meeting to learn about it. Then they will go to three visits in person at the Duke Center for Living in Durham. There is free parking there.
The first visit is a check-up that includes a blood test after not eating. If the person can stay in the study, they will have two more visits. These visits happen in the morning after not eating for 10 hours. Each visit lasts about six hours and they are the same. They will be about one to two weeks apart.
