Purpose of this Study
We are doing this study to test an experimental program called VALOR. The VALOR program is designed to help people recovering from a stroke receive therapy for their arms at home using telehealth. It uses special virtual reality (VR) headsets and software to guide them through daily activities and tasks.
The goal of the VALOR program is to see how well its therapy helps people recover arm movement after a stroke and to gather evidence on how easy it is to use and how much people like it.
We hope that using VALOR for arm exercises at home will:
- Improve arm movement in adults who have had a stroke
- Work better than the usual care treatment
- Be easy to use and well-liked by stroke survivors, with few cases of feeling sick from the technology

What is Involved?
Description
This study will last for approximately 25-weeks. It will involve four study visits, using the VR system to practice activities of daily living, a series of motor function tests, and questionnaires.
If you choose to take part, you will get a random assignment (like a coin flip) to 1 of 2 study groups, which will be to either participate in the VALOR program or follow the standard home exercise plan that is used for stroke recovery.
