Our Duke Health and Exercise Research Trials Registry is a way for people to let our team know that they are interested in learning more about any of our studies for which they may qualify.

Our studies include both healthy people and those who may have certain medical conditions.

We created the Duke Clinical Research Volunteer Registry for people who would like to join clinical research studies. We will use this registry to contact you about available studies.

We have created this repository (storehouse) as a way to securely store your data and samples for future research studies.

These data and samples help us to learn more about health, injury and disease that we hope will lead to improved care of patients.

We are doing this study to learn more about the cause of cardiac (heart) disease or sudden unexplained death, which is something that can run in families.

Some conditions that we are looking at are:
-Cardiomyopathies (a disease of the heart muscle that makes it harder for your heart to pump blood to the rest of your body) such as hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, dilated cardiomyopathy, arrhythmogenic right ventricular cardiomyopathy

-Arrhythmia syndromes (a problem with the rate or rhythm of the heartbeat, either too slow or too fast), such as long QT syndrome, Brugada syndrome, catecholaminergic polymorphic ventricular tachycardia, short QT syndrome

-Sudden cardiac arrest or unexplained sudden death (heart stops suddenly), including sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS)

We are doing this study to collect blood samples that may be used for the following:
- To make sure equipment and assays are working properly
- Staff training
- Researching assay development (an assay is a laboratory test)

We are doing this study to find the most effective, safe dose of an experimental drug called Bomedemstat (the study drug). We want to know how well this study drug works in people with PV.

We are doing this study to find out if images taken of the eye using a special type of camera placed inside a surgical microscope, called Microscope Integrated Optical Coherence Tomography (MIOCT), will give us new information during surgery that will improve both how we perform eye surgery and the results of surgery.
